Apparently I got trade suspended because somebody reported my custom named/described Kantusa. Most likely a lurker/user here who either didn't understand the joke or harbors some kind of petty vendetta.

    The item:

    Cold SteelSeries Kantusa
"Includes unlock code for exclusive physical items: Kana Dota 2 Mouse & Mousepad"

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cold_Steel
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SteelSeries
    http://store.valvesoftware.com/product.php?i=EDT001

The description part of the joke is that most people buy the bundle for the Kantusa rather than the mouse bundle, so it's a Cold Steel sword product that comes with an unlock code for computer peripherals.

Some idiot reported me for it, so Valve confiscated it and suspended my trading privileges. Read the second half of my original post for the full explanation.

They'll probably return it and let me off with a caveat.

So what's the use of id tag and description tag when Valve trade-ban you because of this? It juz doesn't make sense. Should appeal for trade-ban removal! Feel sad for you.

    My sentiments precisely.

It's in reference to my Steam group, in which members privately share insights and theories on the market: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/CoMAP

Irish_00 also took the same screen cap, thinking he was onto something.

LOL that's a pretty good joke tbh. Pretty much spot on with this sentence.

Sroek's had the opportunity to scam me out of a decent chunk of change on multiple occasions, trust him fully, positive he wasn't trying to scam anyone.

I don't think it was really worthy of a ban. The name tag is there for a reason. There has been far more offensive things named with the tag.
If only Valve put more effort on banning people who actually commit an actual crime like stealing/scamming. :s

This Name Tag isn't offensive and I really don't see why they accepted some1 proposal for ban. I'm sure they will remove it when they look at your case more detailed.

    Hang on man!

I guess the only reason valve has for using the word coldsteel. But it seems unreasonable to confer such a punishment, Valve can't possibly expect everyone who uses description tags to stay away from using copyrighted names.

WHAT A JOKE, every trader has at least the right to know why their item was taken away, i mean you paid for it and they dont even give a **** to write you a reason why they took it away from you. dissapointed in valve right now.

I've conducted trades with Sroek and this man is not a scammer , i have no offline affiliations with him whatsoever so my opinion of him has been built up purely through transactions made and he is legit. If we're gonna talk about description tags being dodgy why haven't tournament couriers had their replays fixed yet? Because Valve for alot of the tournament couriers messed up their description tags with the Match ID's not working properly resulting in not being able to view replays. Also i'd like to add that Valve should stop wasting their time with this , return the guys sword and lift the guys trade ban. Check out his reputation thread and see all the people who testify for this guy being honest and legitimate. And instead of hurting Sroek's reputation and wasting time with an investigation on him PLEASE chase REAL SCAMMERS and return STOLEN goods to VICTIMS OF SCAMS!!

I have lodged complaints about a scammer who scammed me and i have heard nothing so to harass Sroek like this is absurd!

I've played with him before cosmetics even were available and he always been a nice guy. I believe his point of view of this case. Since I've been "watching" him trade from nothing to what he has accomplished today. I hope he gets a Kantusa or something back from this case. Just dissapointing if ppl can duplicate items.

I think the Kantusa naming is funny. Sroek is a good guy. He shouldn't have been trade-banned for this. Whoever reported Sroek is a troll.

    Thanks for the support guys.

Alright, so some people are wondering why I'm posting the issue here:

Reason #1: I forwarded this thread to Valve in order to help them complete their investigation. As you can already tell, this thread was initially about personal name/description tags, which will be useful in proving to Valve that I had no reason to hide my custom Kantusa from the public.

Reason #2: I want to make whoever reported me or anyone who goes around reporting other people think twice about what they're actually doing, as the former is probably still keeping an eye on this thread.

The suspension is significant to me because I was in the process of pulling the trigger on a deal that would have put food on the table for all parties involved, as a portion of my income as netted through digital trades.

    Hello Sroek,

Using description tags to purposely misrepresent an item or what it comes with is not permitted.

Your trade ban will end 14 days after it was issued.

Thank you for contacting Steam Support.
